about

Moments In Between, the upcoming third release by The Hollering Pines, conjures a new sonic weather for the Salt Lake Americana band. With its layered atmospheres, uncommon rhythmic textures, and carefully crafted songs, Moments In Between expands upon the band's previous work, drawing a line from the windswept soundscapes of
Daniel Lanois to the openhearted, sometimes melancholy, melodicism of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.

Tracked mostly live on the floor of June Audio (Provo, UT) with additional sessions at Orchard Studios (North Salt Lake, UT), Moments In Between was engineered, mixed, and co-produced by Scott Wiley. Sisters Marie Bradshaw (guitar, vocals) and Kiki Jane Sieger (bass guitar, vocals) knit their voices in the long tradition of harmonizing sisters, with the instrumental backing of; Dylan Schorer (Electric Guitar, 12-String Electric Guitar, Baritone Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Piano) M. Horton Smith (Mandolin, Electric Guitar, Mando Guitar, Tenor Guitar, Baritone Guitar, Cello, Piano) and Daniel Young (Drums, Percussion).

With guest players and masters of pedal steel, Greg Leisz and Gary Morse, these aromotic, ambient tunes rise from a desert straightaway where every pair of surprised headlights could be a spaceship or a marauding angel.

about

The Hollering Pines Salt Lake City, Utah

Kiki Jane Sieger and Marie Bradshaw build on the blood-tight harmonies of the past while M. Horton Smith's mandolin sweetens the sound. Drummer Daniel Young sings and lays down the back beat, and Dylan Schorer’s electric and lap steel guitar embroidery rounds things out, pulling The Hollering Pines closer to the dim lights and thick smoke of a neon roadhouse. ... more
